How to calculate days between two dates
Our days between dates calculator lets you find the exact difference between any two dates in multiple units: days, weeks, months, years, hours, and even business days.
Calculation formula
Days = End Date - Start Date Weeks = Days ÷ 7 Months = Calendar month difference (with day adjustment)
Types of calculations
Calendar days
Counts all days including weekends. Useful for pregnancy tracking, event planning, and personal goals.
Business days
Only counts Monday through Friday. Important for work deadlines, banking calculations, and legal timelines.
By default, the calculator excludes the end date (Monday to Friday = 4 days). Enable "Include end date" if you need both endpoints counted, like for vacation days (Monday to Friday = 5 days).
Subtract the start date from the end date. Our calculator counts exact calendar days and also shows the result in weeks, months, hours, and business days automatically.
Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding weekends. A typical month has between 20 and 23 business days.
A regular year has 365 days. A leap year has 366 days. Leap years occur every 4 years, with exceptions for centuries.
Divide total days by 7. For example: 45 days = 6 weeks and 3 days. Our calculator does this automatically.
The calculator counts Monday-Friday as business days. It doesn't subtract national holidays as these vary by country.
