Honduras Net Salary Calculator
Your Honduras net salary is what remains from your gross pay after ISR (income tax) and payroll deductions such as social security. This calculator estimates your monthly take-home pay in lempiras from the gross salary, an editable payroll deduction rate (5% default reference), and extra deductions, and shows your total effective deduction rate.
With a gross salary of L 30,000 per month and a 5% payroll deduction:
- Estimated ISR: L 1,145.95
- Payroll deduction (5%): L 1,500
- Estimated net salary: L 27,354.05 per month (≈ L 328,249 a year)
- Effective deduction rate: 8.82%
Honduran ISR uses annual brackets with a L 40,000 medical-expense deduction before applying the table.
Formula
Net = Gross salary − ISR − payroll deduction − extra deductions
ISR = annual brackets on (annual salary − L 40,000 medical deduction) ÷ 12 Payroll deduction = salary × editable rate (5% reference)
The ISR table applies brackets: 0% up to L 228,324.32; 15% up to L 348,154.10; 20% up to L 809,660.75; and 25% above, on annual net income after the L 40,000 deduction. Verify the current table with SAR.
Step-by-step example (default values)
- Gross salary = L 30,000; annual salary = L 360,000
- Annual net income = 360,000 − 40,000 = L 320,000
- Annual ISR = 15% × (320,000 − 228,324.32) = L 13,751.35 → monthly L 1,145.95
- Payroll deduction = 30,000 × 5% = L 1,500
- Net = 30,000 − 1,145.95 − 1,500 = L 27,354.05
Scenario table (same engine logic)
| Gross salary | Monthly ISR | Payroll deduction (5%) | Net salary | Effective rate |

| L 30,000 | L 1,145.95 | L 1,500 | L 27,354.05 | 8.82% |
| L 40,000 | L 3,028.64 | L 2,000 | L 34,971.36 | 12.57% |
| L 60,000 | L 7,028.64 | L 3,000 | L 49,971.36 | 16.71% |
Reading the result
Honduran ISR has a high threshold: with the L 40,000 medical deduction, salaries up to ~L 22,000 a month pay no income tax (the annual exempt bracket is L 228,324.32). Above L 30,000 the tax appears and the effective rate climbs fast: between L 20,000 and L 60,000, total deductions go from 5% to almost 17%.
The payroll deduction rate is editable because it can vary by regime, caps, and payroll conditions (IHSS and RAP are handled separately in their own calculator). When comparing offers, use the monthly and annual net, and check which deductions each employer includes.
This tool is an educational estimate with editable rates, not an official payroll. ISR brackets, the medical deduction, and labor rates can change every year and vary by case; verify current values with SAR, your payroll, or an accountant before making decisions.
