Overtime in Guatemala
Overtime work in Guatemala is regulated by the Labor Code (Decree 1441). All work performed beyond the regular workday must be compensated with a premium over the normal wage.
How is overtime paid?
Overtime pay per hour = Regular hourly wage × 1.5
Article 121 establishes that overtime is paid at a 50% premium over the regular hourly rate.

Overtime is voluntary. No employer can force a worker to work overtime, except in cases of emergency or disaster.
