Guatemala Minimum Wage Calculator 2026
The minimum wage in Guatemala is set every year by a government agreement from the Ministry of Labor (MINTRAB). In 2026 (Government Agreement 256-2025) there are two economic regions and three activities. This calculator shows how much you should earn per month, day and hour.
With CE1 (Guatemala Department) and non-agricultural activity, the 2026 minimum wage is:
- Q4,002.28 per month + Q250 incentive bonus = Q4,252.28 monthly
- Q131.58 per day · approx. Q21.01 per hour (44 h/week day shift)
Official 2026 table (Government Agreement 256-2025)
CE1 is the Guatemala Department; CE2 is the rest of the country. The rate depends on where you work, not where you live.
| Region | Activity | Monthly (no bonus) | Bonus | Total monthly | Per day | |---|---|---|---|---|---| | CE1 (Guatemala) | Non-agricultural | Q4,002.28 | Q250 | Q4,252.28 | Q131.58 | | CE1 (Guatemala) | Agricultural | Q3,791.20 | Q250 | Q4,041.20 | Q124.64 | | CE1 (Guatemala) | Export / maquila | Q3,409.73 | Q250 | Q3,659.73 | Q112.10 | | CE2 (Rest) | Non-agricultural | Q3,816.90 | Q250 | Q4,066.90 | Q125.49 | | CE2 (Rest) | Agricultural | Q3,625.89 | Q250 | Q3,875.89 | Q118.29 | | CE2 (Rest) | Export / maquila | Q3,221.10 | Q250 | Q3,471.10 | Q105.90 |
What is and is not included
- Included: the monthly minimum wage by activity and region, the incentive bonus (Decree 78-89, full-time), and the daily/hourly equivalent.
- Not included: ISR or IGSS. For take-home pay, subtract employee IGSS (4.83%) and estimated ISR — use the Guatemala net salary calculator.
- Aguinaldo and Bono 14 are calculated on the ordinary wage (without the incentive bonus).
Minimum wage per hour
The standard day shift is 44 hours per week (about 190.5 hours per month). The hourly wage is the monthly base divided by those hours. For CE1 non-agricultural: Q4,002.28 ÷ 190.5 ≈ Q21.01/hour.
Common mistakes
- Confusing total with base: the legal minimum wage is the amount without bonus; the Q250 bonus is an additional mandatory payment.
- Using the wrong region: CE1 and CE2 differ; check where your workplace is registered.
- Calculating aguinaldo on the total: aguinaldo and Bono 14 use the ordinary wage (without bonus).
Frequently asked questions
It depends on activity and region. In CE1: non-agricultural Q4,002.28, agricultural Q3,791.20 and maquila Q3,409.73 monthly, plus the Q250 bonus. CE2 amounts are slightly lower.
The Q250 monthly bonus is mandatory for full-time workers (Decree 78-89). Part-time work is prorated.
