Colombia night premium: +35% on ordinary night hours
CST article 168.1 (Law 50 of 1990) pays night work, merely for being night work, with a 35% recargo on the daytime hour. This is not overtime: night overtime in 168.3 is +75%.
Night window (art. 160, Law 2466 of 2025): 19:00 to 06:00. Recargos are exclusive (art. 168.4): do not add 35% + 75%.
With wage COP 2,000,000 and 8 ordinary night hours, the educational daytime hour is COP 10,989.01 and the 35% premium is COP 30,769.20.
Not legal advice. The 35% is on top of the daytime hour. Article 168 does not print “182”: that is 42 h/week × 52 ÷ 12 (Law 2101 from 15 Jul 2026). 36-hour rotating shifts (art. 161 c) do not get this recargo.
