Loan calculators by bank in Guatemala

Every Guatemalan bank has its own loan calculator and its own rate. The practical move before comparing offers: bring the same numbers to one tool — amount, term and rate. This guide shows how to simulate your payment at the country's most used banks with the Calcufast loan calculator.

One tool for every bank

Loan calculator: enter the amount you need, the term in years and the rate the bank quoted you, and get the monthly payment, total interest and amortization table.

Simulating payments by bank

Banco Industrial (BI)

For personal loans in quetzales, simulate with the rate the bank quotes (reference range 14%–22% per year depending on profile and product). Typical amounts start at Q5,000. Terms from 1 to 5 years.

Banrural

The bank with the widest rural coverage. Personal and productive loans usually quote in a similar range (reference 14%–20%). If you have a payroll account there, ask about preferred rates.

Promerica

Personal, mortgage and consumer loans. Reference range 13%–19% per year in quetzales for good profiles. Use the calculator with their quoted rate and compare with the bank's own simulator.

BAC Guatemala

Cards, consumer and personal loans. Reference 14%–22% depending on the product. Their simulators often include debt insurance — remember insurance raises the real payment.

GYT (G&T Continental)

Personal and payroll loans. Reference 13%–20%. Payroll rates are usually lower than standard personal ones.

Cooperatives (UPA, San Rafael, etc.)

Savings and credit cooperatives usually run 12%–18%, sometimes below banks, but with membership requirements and different terms. Simulate the same amount at your cooperative and at a bank to compare.

How to compare properly

  1. Use the same effective rate: ask whether the quoted rate is nominal or effective annual. The loan calculator uses the annual rate for the payment.
  2. Include insurance and fees: the payment banks collect almost always includes life insurance. If your estimate only covers principal + interest, add insurance so you are not off.
  3. Compare total interest, not just the payment: a longer term lowers the payment but multiplies interest. The amortization table shows it.
  4. Simulate with your net salary: use the net salary calculator to know how much you can allocate to the loan.

Frequently asked questions

No: it is an educational estimate from the numbers you enter. Use it to compare scenarios with the same rate; the official payment is confirmed by the bank with your file.

Use a reference range (14%–20% per year for personal loans in quetzales) and simulate several rates to see how much the payment changes. That prepares you to negotiate.

Yes: the same calculator serves auto loans and mortgages, each with its own page.
