How to calculate a Banrural loan payment

The monthly payment for a fixed-installment loan uses the French amortization formula:

Payment = Principal × (r × (1+r)^n) ÷ ((1+r)^n − 1)

Where r = annual rate ÷ 12 and n = number of payments.

Example: Q50,000 over 3 years (36 payments)

| Rate | Monthly payment | Total to pay | Interest | |---|---|---|---| | 13% (payroll, good history) | Q1,684.70 | Q60,649.11 | Q10,649.11 | | 18% | Q1,807.62 | Q65,074.31 | Q15,074.31 | | 20% (branch) | Q1,858.18 | Q66,894.45 | Q16,894.45 |

The difference between 13% and 20% is Q173.48 per month (≈Q6,245 in interest over the term). Comparing rates before signing pays off.

Quick table by amount (36 payments)

| Amount | Payment @ 13% | Payment @ 20% | |---|---|---| | Q20,000 | Q673.88 | Q743.27 | | Q50,000 | Q1,684.70 | Q1,858.18 | | Q100,000 | Q3,369.40 | Q3,716.36 |

Banrural or compare with other banks?

Banrural is often among the lowest rates in the personal market, especially with payroll deduction. But Bantrab, Banrural, BI, BAM, G&T, BAC, Promerica and UPA have different ranges depending on your profile. Use the loan comparator by bank to see all 8 banks side by side and adjust the rate if you already received a different quote.

Frequently asked questions

Crédito Amigo Consumo and Crédito Amigo Trabajador go up to Q3,000,000, with terms up to 60 months. The approved amount depends on your payment capacity (income minus debts) and credit history.

The typical public range is 13–20% annual for personal loans (better rates with payroll deduction). Without a payroll relationship it can be higher; the CAT is usually 2–4 points above the advertised rate.

Crédito Amigo Trabajador is designed for salaried workers and usually has a better rate because payment is deducted from payroll. Crédito Amigo Consumo is for independent earners or those who prefer no payroll deduction.

Banrural checks the credit bureau. Without history it can be harder, but some payroll products consider job tenure as backing. Ask an advisor which product fits your case.
