12% interest on cesantías
Cesantías go to the fund. Interest is paid by the employer to the worker. Law 52 of 1975 and Law 50 of 1990, article 99, set 12% per year or a proportion on the cesantías caused at 31 December.
This page starts from the amount already caused. It does not re-estimate the principal.
Cesantías COP 2,000,000 and 360 days: 2,000,000 × 360 × 0.12 ÷ 360 = COP 240,000.
Not legal advice. The 12% uses the 360-day commercial year from the cesantías calculator. In practice it is paid in January, by 31 January. It does not go to the fund.
How it is calculated
Interest = cesantías × days worked × 0.12 ÷ 360
A 360-day commercial year is exactly 0.12 × cesantías. A half year is not half of a 12% on another base: 180 days on COP 1,000,000 is COP 60,000.

No. Interest is paid to the worker. The fund receives only the cesantías principal.
The 12% is proportional to days. 180 days on COP 1,000,000 = COP 60,000, not half of a full-year 240,000 on a different base.
No. Paste the amount already caused. The cesantías calculator estimates the principal.
